NetSim in Microsoft Windows 7/8/10 Operating System. The procedure below explain how to installation The systems must be networked via LAN and should be able to ping the NetSim license server.Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 (necessary if user want to work with the protocol C source codes).Microsoft Office 2007 or higher version (required to view packet trace, event trace and exported results which are ‘,’ separated csv files.Windows 7(SP1), 8, 8.1 or 10 (32bit / 64bit) operating system with minimum 1024 * 768 monitor resolution.Hardware: Processor: i3 equivalent or above, RAM: 2GB(min) 4GB or higher(recommended). Please use any non-chromium based browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox to download any software from this page. Once i got the material down then i can worry about tests.Note for download: Chromium based browsers (Chrome, Edge to name a few) have stopped support for FTP protocol. If it makes it a difference, I'm more interesting in learning the material as apposed to passing a test. Im considering buying it (CCNA Version) since I dont have the means to have a physical lab but was interested in hearing first hand from people that have already bought the product. I just wanted to know if there are also limitations with this software. I recently found out about Boson NetSim after weeks of lurking on this sub and I even see that there is a Boson Employee here every once in a while. Packet tracer is great if you're just starting out, but there are A LOT of limitations once you get passed ICND1 (I'm not even able to assign a static IP on the DHCP pool because it doesnt recognize Host command.) GNS3 is also great but you have to have the actual IOS bin file (which i fortunately do have) but there are limitations with L2 switching as some of you may know. My only problem is the limitations of some of these sims. So I am getting more and more into the networking world and seriously considering taking my ICND1 and 2 over the next couple of months.
